Princeton Shockwave
Triple three watt Maxbright LEDs combined with Princeton Tec's proprietary optics offer unprecedented brightness and beam smoothness. 9 watts of pure brute power is offered with two modes of illumination, high for super bright and low for extended battery life. The light output is calibrated for both close range tasks and spotting at a distance. The Shockwave LED is engineered to be impact resistant and waterproof to 100 meters. Princeton Tec has developed proprietary ultralight heatsinks to protect LED products from overheating. Even though LEDs operate at much lower temperatures than traditional incandescent bulbs, they still generate heat. If this heat is not dissipated, the LED will suffer irreversible damage. By using heatsinks, Princeton Tec lights can burn at extreme brightness levels for long periods of time. The heatsink may be incorporated internally or externally depending on the product and its application. Mulitpe Beams: This beam pattern combines focused narrow beams and focused wide beams to allow for the most versatility. At close range, the focused wide beams simulate normal daylight conditions so you to take advantage of your peripheral vision. The focused narrow beams create a long-throw spotlight ideal for night hiking and search and rescue. The highest of Princeton Tec’s ratings, Level 3 is assigned to lights that offer a degree of water protection equivalent to IPX8 in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. Lights rated at Level 3 provide waterproof integrity for continual submersion in water at depths down to 100 meters. A collimator gathers all available light from an LED in the form of scattered rays and re-emits the light as parallel rays, making it more optically efficient than a standard reflector. Princeton Tec calibrates each collimator to the type of LED and application of each light. With proprietary optimized collimator/lens systems, Princeton Tec continues to advance LED technology.
